Narcissists Are Destroying America

They are born into large, cold mansions. From their first day, multiple servants attend to their whims. Their mothers’ presence is lost among the buzz of the servants — if they were ever there in the first place.

Growing up, the same cold social atmosphere dominates their lives. Their fathers are always working. When they aren’t, they are distant and cold. Those who aren’t so, don’t really know what being a loving father is, because they haven’t seen it from their fathers themselves. The most they can do is to teach their children about ‘legacy’ and ‘heritage’ — like how their parents did so before. Their mothers are either working or are busy with their ‘charity’ endeavors. Servants who attend to their every whim are their most frequent social contact. What would be considered child abuse through neglect is just normal in their social class.

Friends are scarce, too. They are allowed to socialize with children at their social status only, and only with those socially expedient for their own family. School doesn’t change that. They attend isolated elite schools that teach children of their social status. All their classmates are children who are growing up in the same conditions. The same cold, distant social environment dominates the atmosphere. Educational institutions and other institutions not only bend over backwards to accommodate them, but also instill in them the same values about their self-importance, their right to be on top of society, ‘legacy’, ‘heritage’, and the like.

College amplifies the trend. They attend Ivy League schools, which other kids from their social class attend. They form calculated relationships that will serve their self-aggrandizement in the future. Below a thin layer of superficial friendship, motivations of self-interest dominate their relationships. Sometimes openly so.

They study law or economics as the rest of their social strata do. In the future, they will either work as corporate board members or executives like their parents or they will enter politics like them.

What little social contact they had with those out of their social class was through their servants and white collar professionals who had been serving them since they were born. They get used to getting what they want. They get used to others doing what they tell them to. There is no conflict for them, no resistance to them.

The only times when that is not so are when peers of their social class are involved. And those situations are resolved through power games that are played within them through social class positioning, economic power, overlapping interests, and plotting and intrigue. Rarely ever does law get involved — they just ‘settle’ their differences among themselves.

In that world, only the self matters. They dominate those weaker, and they parley with their equals in ego games.

It’s the perfect breeding ground for narcissism…

So They Become Narcissists

Those who don’t are eliminated naturally by choosing to do things that are not related to power — like becoming activists, working in real charities, or actual humane causes. The system also selects them out of the power pyramid — from their parents to peers, the sycophants of the system promote those who are narcissistic enough to run the system instead of them.

The less narcissist ones among the narcissists are also deprioritized by the system — not only through their parents promoting more narcissist ones who can further the ‘family legacy’ the most, but also the system itself deprioritizes them and gives priority to the more narcissist ones as they stop at nothing for power and profit and therefore advance faster within the system and get into authority positions.

Therefore, the most narcissistic ones rise to the top…

They become the execs, board members, and CEOs of major corporations. Some become investors with the money from their family estate, or by outright taking over.

Those who become politicians speedily rise to power. Some work as interns for a while with congresspeople or senators, then launch their own careers by going for minor political positions. Some are outright selected by the establishment to become major players and are boosted in political races. The cadre that chooses to become politicians from each generation quickly disperses into municipal, state, and national politics with the support of the establishment.

They already know each other either directly because of their shared elite upbringing or through different relationship networks. They already work in similar power positions at every level. They have a shared upbringing that imposed on them narcissistic behavior patterns. They are plugged into the elite society that already existed before them in those power positions. As a result, they keep feeding an entire narcissistic subculture.

Elites As A Narcissist, Isolated, Disconnected Subculture

When they are plugged into society, the social consciousness that the new generations of elite develop is no different than the social consciousness that the subculture they are plugged into upon coming of age. The earlier generations were raised with the same mentality. The new generation becomes fresh blood for the subculture.

The new generations gain real power by joining the ‘working’ society. Before, their privilege and means allowed them to get what they wanted from anyone outside their elite circle. Now they have the actual power to enforce their will upon others as execs, as investors, as judges, politicians, and lobbyists.

Their narcissism deepens.

Now they can actually shape their society’s reality to their will by relying on the collective grip on power they have.

They make laws to increase their own power. They make laws to increase their profit. They make laws to suppress opposition. They make laws to suppress popular dissent.

They bend reality in many ways without needing to make laws. They control the entire economy through their grip on the corporate world. What they collectively want is imposed on their employees, customers, the economy, and eventually everyone in society in that order, through the private economic tyranny they have.

Being able to bend society to their will adds to their narcissistic upbringing. Their self-importance and ego are validated. They already had a weak connection to the reality of the people in American society. Being able to shape the society further disconnects them from reality: If they don’t like the current reality, they make a new one.

It doesn’t matter whether people are suffering. Things will work out — as long as they keep their power and wealth and both of them keep increasing. If things don’t work out and dozens of millions of their people suffer or go hungry, that’s a sacrifice they are willing to make. After all, this is ‘how things are’. Their narcissism, along with the disconnect from the reality they have, protect them from feeling empathy for others. It’s all about themselves — if they and their desires are fulfilled, the rest doesn’t matter.

But The Disconnect Eventually Goes Off The Charts

Bending societal reality to their will does a number when combined with their narcissism and causes their disconnect to go off the charts.

They stop even paying attention to what is going on in their society because they think that they can just bend it to their will. And for a long while, that remains the case.

But a point comes at which the disconnect becomes irrational.

When their people go hungry or homeless while working multiple jobs, they think that if they do so much as pretend to pay some attention to their issues and make false promises, they will still vote for them.

When their people start protesting violently after having been lied to while starving, they think that if they get them beaten up by the police that serves their interests, the people will ‘know their place’.

When people start seeking alternatives by trying to elect those who seem to actually speak for them, they think that those are demagogues and populists who are only followed ‘because of their charisma’.

When their society starts descending into reactionary extremism, they think that it is just a passing phase and they can just control it, just like they have always done.

Such a level of disconnect from reality eventually starts to catch attention. What the elites say, what they do, and what they seem to care for start appearing irrational to the majority. The people start to notice that the elite live in a different world, and not only is it evident that their concerns don’t exist in the elite’s world, but also the elite don’t seem to be aware or care that they exist in the majority’s world either.

It starts looking as if the elite are people from outer space, from some other planet than the planet Earth…

It’s Even Worse In Foreign Policy

Such a level of narcissistic disconnect shows itself faster in the realm of foreign policy.

The narcissist elite, who are used to bending their society to their will, think that they can bend the world to their will in the same way.

They think that they can just say what they want, and the rest of the world will rush to make it happen.

And if the rest of the world doesn’t oblige, they can just make it oblige by dishing out some money — most of the time, they don’t even do that.

If even they can’t sort it out with money, the violence of the ultra narcissist shows up: They try to just bash in the heads of anyone who doesn’t comply to ‘make them understand’.

The breaking point comes when they fail at that too: They cannot interpret, and even less, accept that they can’t assert their will. As a result, they reset back to the beginning of the cycle; They again make demands, thinking that the rest of the world will just follow.

At this point they increasingly start appearing delirious, especially if they don’t have the power to get what they want through violence anymore: The demands start becoming ever more disconnected from reality, to the extent that they even ask their rivals to just lay down and surrender even in a war they are visibly losing.

The narcissist’s psyche cannot cope with a reality where its desires are frustrated.

But Those Who Deal With Them Experience A Greater Shock

Those who deal with the narcissists are shocked even more than the narcissists as the narcissists start making increasingly surrealistic demands on them.

They can’t understand how educated, knowledgeable people who occupy positions of power can make demands that defy the actual reality.

They can’t understand how such people can say one thing, do another. Even worse, how can they promise something, then easily, immediately betray that promise but still expect the other party to hold their end of the bargain…

They are connected to reality enough, but not understanding that narcissists are not connected to the same reality causes them to fail to understand the situation.

They think that if they keep treating the narcissists like rational adults, eventually the narcissists will see the light and start acting like responsible adults. They think that if they forgive yet another violation of the norms or another backstab, the narcissists will finally come to their senses and start acting rationally. If they just keep acting in a civilized manner, the narcissists will eventually act like good neighbors. They fail to understand one thing:

The narcissists won’t act rationally that regardless of what they do.

The narcissists’ psyche is shaped by selfishness, ignoring/diminishing others, and exploiting everything outside for their own benefit.

The narcissists can’t break out of that perspective because that perspective is the framework through which they see and understand the world in the first place.

It’s what they are, and only a great shock caused by total isolation from anyone to exploit to feed their own ego and aggrandize themselves could force them to reevaluate their perspective.

Barring that, in any environment in which they can continue the behavior model, they just keep repeating the same patterns. Demand, manipulate, lie, betray, backstab, force, and rinse and repeat.

This is what the majority of the world is finding itself in when dealing with America: A totally out-of-touch narcissist elite that constantly repeats the same pattern of demanding, lying, backstabbing, and violence.

The majority in the world still thinks that if it keeps sticking to civilized, rational norms that it uses to deal among themselves, America will eventually come to reason. It keeps forgiving the US even though it lies, betrays every promise and backstabs everyone, including its own ‘allies’. It still tries to reason with America, whereas the US elite does not care about reason. It still treats the US elite as peers while the US elite sees the rest, including its own people, as having less worth than insects. This disdain is further exacerbated by the lingering 19th-century white supremacy, which is mostly Angloamerican supremacy — they are the righteous, justified betters, and they have a right to deal with the rest of the world as if the rest of the world were mere insects.

Eventually, each single country starts to realize that there is no rational way to deal with the US elite. They are not rational, they don’t care about being rational, nor do they want to deal with the rest as equals.

So The Narcissists Drag The US To Collapse From All Sides

The internal societal collapse resulting from the exploitation of their people by the narcissists is exacerbated by the collapse of external relations, trade, and foreign policy.

Countries that understand the nature of the US elite start cutting themselves off from them in every way they can.

Diplomatic, economic, and strategic isolation starts adding up to problems at home.

They become a cascade of problems that amplify each other.

The economy goes to worse. Unemployment rises. Education levels fall. It became too expensive anyway. People start cutting their expenses to survive — which further chokes the economy because consumption goes down.

The US wants to print money to get out of this, but now the countries that it had been exploiting and backstabbing are dropping the dollar and printing money brings inflation for no gain.

It tries to bash in the heads of a few countries to make everyone fall in line, but they prove too strong. It goes back to the start of the cycle to make demands, but it falls on deaf ears.

The out-of-touch elite deal with things in the way they know how to deal with anything: They just start bending reality.

Narrative management is done to make reality what it is not — the economy is great, employment is on the rise, and everyone is doing great.

Military prowess is drummed up despite losing wars and lacking money to spend on the military. Magic money is produced by raising the ‘debt ceiling’. The military-industry-complex jacks up prices even higher in response, which cripples the military even more.

But the elite are satisfied — they are still living in their isolated mansions among their own social strata, their imaginary wealth is rising in digits even as their society collapses. There is no reason to change anything. Candidates who promise ‘nothing will change’ get elected. Everything goes worse.

Other politicians are elected, but the elite strata do not change. The supposed ‘change’ president sticks to the existing farce and changes almost nothing. The rest of the elite are just happy with how it turns out; they are still hoarding imaginary wealth as their society collapses around them, outside, at a distance, without disturbing them.

Everything is great, even as everything crashes down and burns.
